Arcadian Sales carries the BEL (Bel Fuse) or BEL POWER line of dc to dc converters. The product range includes: all converters formerly made by Galaxy Power, plus non-isolated surface mount and vertical mount boost converters, overmolded surface mount modules, and compact surface mount parts. Isolated and non-isolated modules in SIP packages, including boost converters, tracking buck converters and low power converters are noted. Further detailed are 1” x 2” isolated converters, as well as those in 1/16 brick, 1/8 brick sizes.
However, the real niche served by this product line is the of Point Of Load, or POL market. The two major families of POL products from BEL include the ARROWHEAD AND BOBCAT series.

The most unique and cutting edge product line is the ARROWHEAD series of regulated step down (buck) dc/dc converters. These converters are highly compact (.6 x .7 inches) come in an overmolded package that requires little to no air flow for cooling, and work at 93% efficiency. These units operate from a 4.5 to 14 volt source, and are available with a wide trimmable / programmable range of output voltages from .8 to 5 volts. The 8amps of output current is typically more than enough power for most applications. Available in RoHS 5 and fully RoHS compliant.

Then there is the BOBCAT series. These are non-isolated DC/DC converter modules that are drop in replacements to several Tyco Power, or Lucent Power Austin Lynx Series Non-Isolated dc-dc Power Modules. They can deliver up to 6amps of output current with full load efficiency of 92% at 5volts of output. These modules provide regulated output voltage programmable via an external resistor from .75volts to 5.0volts over a wide range of input voltages. These modules also have a sequencing feature that enables designers to implement various types of output voltage sequencing when powering multiple voltages on a board. Their open from construction and small footprint (.8 x .45 inches for SMT, .26 x .92 inches for SIP) enable designers to develop cost and space saving solutions. Standard features include remote on/off, programmable output voltage, and over-current protection. Available in RoHS 5 and fully RoHS compliant.
