ARCADIAN INC. is now stocking both the SS-60000-009 stadard jack and the SS-60000-009G "Gel Jack" from Bel Fuse Inc. / Stewart Connector. (AKA DigiKey part # 380-1096-ND and DigiKey part # 380-1148-ND.
The SS-60000-009 is a right angle RJ45 connector for Cat 6 applications. The unit is shielded, with 8 contacts 8 positions, orientation is Tab Up.
The SS-60000-009G is the same unit, with a coating of EPP-918A Gel, thus called out as a Gel Jack.
According to Bel, the EPP-918A Gel is a...
"newly formulated proprietary gel developed exclusively to provide both lubrication and pore blocking properties to significantly extend the life of voice and data connections. Offering excellent corrosion, dirt, moisture, humidity, and chemical resistance, the gel also protects the integrity of RJ45 and RJ11 jacks from wear resulting from repetitive mating/un-mating forces.
The units are now in stock, and can be found on our website at:
1. Standard Jack: SS-60000-009, click here we now have 16,000 pcs IN STOCK (04-28-11)
2. Gel Jack: SS-60000-009, click here we now have 5,000 pcs IN STOCK (04-28-11)

Just a quick note to all of our clients and rep partners for both Laird Technologies (formerly Antenex) and Pulse Electronics (formerly Larsen Antennas) Arcadian Inc will be participating at the upcoming IWCE show March 9-11 2011 at the Las Vegas Convetion Center.
Both myself, Mike Crudele, and Louis Murguia will be in attendance at the show in support of our antenna suppliers.
Laird Technologies (antennas) Booth 8114
Pulse Electronics (antennas) Booth 4003
We will be discussing antenna solutions with current and potential clients. Our specialites in the area of wireless communications include:
Mobile antennas, cable kits, NMO and magnetic mounts including the Laird / Antenex Phantom series like the TRA821/18503 and the Pulse / Larsen LPT antennas and NMOHF high frequency mounts, like the NMOHFTHK
Portable antennas including Laird Technologies (formerly Centurion Wireless ) Tuf Duck and Pulse Electronics (formerly Larsen Antennas) Spots! antennas for hand held - walkie talkie applications
Fiberglass omni antennas such as the FG9023 and directional Yagi base station antennas
Both Louis and I will be on the show floor during exhibit hours, and would like to meet with you. Please contact one of us...

I will be working with Laird Technologies' RFID antenna product manager Mr. Mark Miller, to support their exhibit at RFID Journal Live, booth # 742.
I will represent Arcadian Inc in support of Laird's portfolio of RFID antennas, mounting brackets and cable extensions. We will highlight the following wireless products:
10x10 inch circularly polarized UHF RFID antennas: S9028PC series for North America, S8658P series for Europe and S8658WP series for wide-band applications. Features include: 902-928 mhz or 865-870 mhz, 9 dbic gain, 70 degrees of beamwidth.
5x5 inch cirucularly polarized UHF RFID antennas: S9025 series for North America and S8655 series for Europe. Features include: 902-928 mhz or 865-870 mhz, 5.5 dbic gain, 100 degrees of beamwidth.
Nearfiled antenna for under the counter, retail applications.
Please feel free to contact me if you are a current or potential client or supplier, i'd be delighted to meet with you while i am in Orlando.

An antenna or aerial is a transducer designed to transmit or receive radio waves which are a class of electromagnetic waves. In other words, antennas convert radio frequency electrical currents into electromagnetic waves and vice versa. Antennas are used in systems such as radio and television broadcasting, point-to-point radio communication, wireless lan.
Physically, an antenna is an arrangement of conductors that generate a radiating electromagnetic field in response to an applied alternating voltage and the associated alternating electric current, or can be placed in an electromagnetic field so that the field will induce an alternating current in the antenna and a voltage between its terminals.
The Laird Technologies / Centurion Wireless antennas that we carry can be broken down into two catagories, internal and external.

Just got done reading a press release about the National Semiconductor physical layer transceiver chip, part # DP83640 (DP83640 - Precision PHYTER - IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol Transceiver.) A link to the datasheet for the DP83640 can be found at http://www.national.com/ds/DP/DP83640.pdf
According to the article (in the November 5, 2007 issue of Electronic Design) this chip is unique in that it has full implementation of IEEE-158 PTP (precision time protocol) standard. The IEEE-1588PTP is a technique for synchronizing the clock signals in one part of a network with clocks distributed throughout the network. One of the clocks being used as the grandmaster and all others as slaves.
That said, the DP83640 from National Semi requires specific ethernet magnetics for optimal performance. As a distributor for Bel Fuse Inc, we recommend trying one of following options from Bel Fuse. Please note that all four of these parts are equivalent to the Pulse devices approved by National Semi / NSC (Pulse H1102, H1102NL, H2019, and H2019NL)
The first two options are for ethernet only (no POE / power over ethernet features)
08B0-1X1T-36-F1: RoHS compliant, MagJack, RJ45 connector, rated for extended temperature, with LED's and 1:1 turns ration 10/100 magnetics S558-5999-U7-F: RoHS compliant, discrete magnetic module for 10/100, single port, 1:1 tx/rx turns ratio, link to: http://arcadiansales.com/searchbypartnumber_details.php?part_number=S5585999U7F
The next three options are recommended for designs with POE.
08B0-1X1T-36-F1: RoHS compliant, MagJack, RJ45 connector, rated for extended temperature, with LED's and 1:1 turns ration 10/100 magnetics
0826-1X1T-57-F: RoHS compliant, MagJack, RJ45 connector, wtih LED's and 1:1 turns ratio 10/100 magnetics AND POE. Link to:
http://arcadiansales.com/searchbypartnumber_details.php?part_number=08261X1T57F1
0838-1X1T-W6: RoHS compliant, MagJack, RJ45 connector, wtih LED's and 1:1 turns ratio 10/100 magnetics AND POE "PLUS" (higher power POE.) Link to:
http://arcadiansales.com/searchbypartnumber_details.php?part_number=08381X1TW6
S558-5500-25-F: RoHS compliant, discrete magnetic module for 10/100 and POE, single port, 1:1 tx/rx turns ratio, link to:

If you have any questions at all, or would like to obtain any of these Bel Fuse devices for the
National Semiconductor DP83640 Precision PHYTER (IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol Transceiver) Please contact me at mikec@arcadiansales.com
