MoCA / CATV Triplexer for DOCSIS 2.0 from Bel Fuse

Posted on Tuesday, August 7th, 2007
This morning, i had a customer inquire about a cross to a Pulse Engineering part # C6058, a MoCA diplexer. So, i sent the request off to Mr. Lee Hancock, product manager for broadband products from Bel Fuse. Here is what he had to say...

"At this time Bel does not have a direct equivalent to the Pulse part specified. However, in an effort to expand our RF product line, Bel joined the MoCA Alliance in August 2006 and since have been actively engaged in MoCA Diplexers and Triplexers for supporting various MoCA WAN and LAN applications including ONT’s, Set Top Boxes etc. We already have a wide range of offerings in the MoCA space and would like to present to your Engineering team our technical strengths and capabilities, discuss our ability to develop such a Diplexer and detail future product options.

To give you an example of a recent MoCA design, I attach a typical specification of a MoCA Triplexer, for Bel Fuse part # 0806-5400-56(Bel Fuse, MoCA/CATV Triplexor for DOCSIS 2.0 w/high band pass filter(975-1525 MHz) middle pass filter(54-864 MHz) & low pass filter(5-42 MHz & surge protection.) This splits the standard CATV DOSCIS 2.0 band into Upstream and Downstream as would be seen in any Cable Modem or Set Top Box application, but we have also added a 3rd MoCA band. In this case it just happens to include the WAN and LAN frequency bands but we have many other band allocation options. These filters and designed into a compact metal shielded housing with the Common Port F-connector attached."
