A FUSE is protective device for electric circuits containing a wire designed to melt and open the circuit under abnormally high electric loads. PTC or Positive Temperature Coefficient device increases its internal resistance as it get hotter, thus limiting the current flow and additional heating, these devices basically re-set themselves after being "tripped" due to overcurrent.
